  january 2016 jw broadcasting..... video starts at 35:30. a local design construction department manager named travis brooks tells a story about a building project on the island of yap, micronesia.

  a small kingdom hall needs to be expanded because the facility wasn't big enough for those in attendance.

  The standards in 3rd world are lower. I question enough clean water to wash the sand, not to mention the round grains instead of sharp sand. Since armageddon is coming the hall needs only stand a few years. The good old wattle and daub with a thatched roof was not as bad as we think. I asked a brother who went to Warwick about the similarity with quick builds. He said the work there was not like the sloppy work in local kh,s. And EVERYTHING he did was torn out the next day, and he was skilled.

  a recent post by atlantis/ petra was about destroying old books, some of which had been studied and placed over the years.. is witnessing these days only about directing people to jworg, are there books that are placed, or is hq concerned enough about having ever-changing beliefs in print that they avoid it?.

  The Ezekiel book is unavailable in paper. Haven't seen any mags either. The line on Ezekiel is that it keeps getting revised so the paper copy is out of date. Maybe Ezekiel should sue for theft of intellectual property.

  The Importance of Language

  language is obviously a very important thing.

  obviously, language is essential in conveying ideas - without it, we'd be screwed.. but it goes beyond that in terms of its importance.. first, it's a good idea to use accurate language, especially when talking about important things or discussing difficult topics.. second, we should be free to use the words we want to use.

  unfortunately, there is an attempt by certain people to control what words we can and cannot say.

  as imperfect and flawed capitalism is, it has worked better than other forms of economic and political systems-so far.

  it’s very simple in “theory.” capitalism is an economic and-or, political system in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state.

  in other words, keep government out of it as much as possible.

  There are well known groups aligned with the left who decry civilized norms. Someone posted a list from the Smithsonian black museum that listed things such as proper english, nuclear families, and others as being symptoms of systemic racism.   WT is right in some of their arguments. Dec 25 is wrong date, wise men were 3 years late, and the 3 gifts make it tradition that there were 3 wise men. The other side is that the WT chooses to do anything that can cause controversy.

  We ( im pimo) cant be normal. We missed normal activities; xmas, bdays, haloween, tgiving, military scouts. I have to admit mom and dad compromised so I did some trick n treat, bdays, etc. As a teen and 20s I had the drinking, chasing around. Never had a girl all the way until marriage. I think back and wonder about some chances I maybe missed, maybe not.

  The biggest non normal thing is realizing we are not going into the new world and facing retirement, death, and were suckered. It cant be explained to anyone outside the experience

  How much do Elders actually get along with each other?

  i was reading in the shepherding book that elders should “ cul­tivate and maintain friendships with one another.”, and thought to myself “bulls$it!” i remember that most of the elders in my old congregation were nothing but nasty asses.

  i know it may vary from congregation to congregation, but do elders generally get along with each other behind closed doors in elders meetings?

  or, are they often in conflict with each other?

  I think some of those soldiers played the part. Not really repentant over past bad deeds. I missed the wars too. There is a bond made in combat that is unequaled

  Related: 2 good sisters make fun of my wife for being a virgin when we married. Believe me there are no regrets in our sex life.

  Monopoly laws. I just found out ROKU which is competition for Fire stick uses amazon servers.

  Then look at the tax deals big companies get from cities to add $12 hour no benefit jobs.
